METHOD FOR ISOLATION AND PURIFICATION OF 1,3-PROPANDIOL AND 2,3-BUTANDIOL FROM CULTURE MEDIUM OF MICROORGANISM OR THEIR MIXTURE

PURPOSE: A method for isolating 1,3-propandiol and 2,3-butandiol is provided to effectively collect 1,3-propandiol and 2,3-butandiol from a microorganism culture medium which is prepared by culturing with glycerol as a carbon source, and to save cost for preparing 1,3-propandiol and 2,3-butandiol. CONSTITUTION: A method for isolating 1,3-propandiol and 2,3-butandiol comprises: a step of removing bacteria from a microorganism culture medium containing 1,3-propandiol and 2,3-butandiol; a step of adding activated charcoal to the culture medium and removing protein and pigment; a step of evaporating the culture medium by reduced pressure and desalting; and a step of eluting a solvent layer or a mixture solution containing 1,3-propandiol and 2,3-butandiol using a polar solvent and methanol.
