PURPOSE: An optical disc and a drive method thereof are provided to facilitate disk recognition in a three wave length system which includes a blue-ray disk, a DVD, and a CD.;CONSTITUTION: An optical disc comprises a light source, a collimator lens, a memory unit (208), and a control unit (207). The light source emits a ray of light with a fixed wavelength. The collimator lens is arranged on an optical path. The memory unit stores data for the initialization and optimization of the collimator lens when a power source is applied to an optical disc unit.
