PURPOSE: A vehicle weight measuring system using response properties of a vertical reinforcing material of a steel bridge is provided to simplify a measurement for obtaining the information of a driving vehicle by measuring only responses of materials in which the length of an influence line is short, thereby reducing time for processing data. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle weight measuring system(400) using response properties of a vertical reinforcing material of a steel bridge comprises a bridge response property obtaining unit(410), a bridge response data processing unit(420), and an overloaded vehicle curbing unit(430). The bridge response property obtaining unit includes a vertical reinforcing material strain gauge, thereby obtaining bridge response properties. The bridge response data processing unit calculates the weight of shafts of the driving vehicle and the whole weight of the vehicle and determines whether the weight of the shaft and the whole weight of the vehicle are exceeded an allowable reference or not. The overloaded vehicle curbing unit recognizes a vehicle number of an overloaded vehicle when the bridge response data processing unit determines that the vehicle is the overloaded vehicle, thereby transmitting the information of the overloaded vehicle.
