PURPOSE: An oil detecting device for condensate water in an air cooler is provided to prevent environmental contaminant by preventing condensate water containing oil which is more than an allowable range from being discharged. CONSTITUTION: An oil detecting device for condensate water in an air cooler comprises a drain tank(10), pumps(20), an oil detecting unit(30). The drain tank stores condensate water generated from an air cooler of a diesel engine. The pumps discharge the condensate water stored in the drain tank. The oil detecting device detects oil ingredients in the condensate water discharged from the pumps. If the oil ingredients are more than an allowable range, the oil detecting unit stops the operation of the pumps.
