The method involves introducing cleaning fluid containing hypochlorous acid into a part of a process system (1) via supply lines (19, 21). The cleaning fluid is transported through the part towards a fluid outlet (10). Rinsing fluid is introduced via the supply lines and transported through the part towards the fluid outlet. A measurement value representing a concentration of the acid at a reference location within the part, is determined by absorption measurement. A measuring radiation used for the measurement is passed through a measuring path (35), which partially runs within the part.
