The method involves determining a frequency band of an emitting source (4) of a radiating object (2), and detecting data of local specific absorption rate (SAR) inside a human body phantom (1) by a probe (3). Radiated power data is received by the object simultaneously with the detection of the local SAR data. The power data is transmitted to a power measurement module (6) i.e. power meter, and a power measurement is sent to a processing unit (5). The SAR is determined using the processing unit by processing the local SAR data and the measurement carried out by the module. An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring specific absorption rate of a human body phantom placed in an electromagnetic field generated by an emitting source of a radiating object.
