The transmission has a first wheel plane (Z2) and a second wheel plane (Z3) i.e. reverse wheel plane (ZR), attached to an external input shaft (11). The second wheel plane is formed as a reverse gear wheel set. A third wheel plane (Z4) is attached to the external input shaft and/or a driven shaft (12). A fourth wheel plane (Z5) is attached to the driven shaft such that eight forward gears and four reverse gears are shiftable. Seven of the eight forward gears are power shiftable, and three of the four reverse gears are power shiftable. One of the forward gears is formed as a winding gear. The external input shaft is formed as a shorter hollow shaft.
