The method involves receiving two route proposals by a navigation system (120), where the proposals comprise a set of route sections and different from each other in one of the route sections. Two stress values of the proposals are determined using stress attributes (122) stored in the route sections. One of the proposals is selected, where the stress value of the selected proposal is provided in a predetermined relationship with a selected criterion of a driver of a vehicle (100). The selected proposal is provided to the navigation system for determining a route for the navigation system.
