The silencer has an intermediate wall (8) aligned orthogonally to a geometrical center axis and dividing a space into a primary chamber and another chamber with respect to direction of the center axis. An inlet tube (4) is guided through a housing wall and led into the former chamber. The intermediate wall serves as a retainer for the inlet tube. An outlet tube (5) is led into the latter chamber. The intermediate wall exhibits a semicylindrical formation, in which the inlet tube is partially held or enclosed. The space is limited by the housing wall and front walls (2, 3). An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an intermediate wall of a silencer.
