Silencer has external case (24), surrounding internal envelope (26) forming inner expansion chamber (25). Inner envelope has series of small holes (42) allowing space (28) between two walls to communicate with expansion chamber. This space is also filled with thermal insulating material. Inlet tube (45) is designed to guide exhaust gas (E) into expansion chamber and passes through one of two holes (30, 31), formed in opposing ends of envelopes.
