The column reinforcement (10) has a bottom (12) provided with walls (11). Through holes (13) are formed in the walls. A metal sheet (16) is provided outside the bottom. The primary fiber reinforcement structures (19,20) are connected with secondary fiber reinforcement structures (21,22) along the longitudinal axis of the lightweight component so as to form a layer structure (18), such that direction of fibers in primary fiber reinforcement structures is different from direction of fibers in secondary fiber reinforcement structures. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) motor vehicle; and (2) method for manufacturing lightweight component.
