Method for manufacturing lightweight component of e.g. body reinforcement for passenger car, involves connecting fiber-reinforced organic sheet layer to single-piece laminar structure in which fiber courses are crossed in layers
The method involves connecting a fiber-reinforced organic sheet layer (13) to a single-piece laminar structure in which fiber courses are crossed in layers. Congruent blanks (12) for the organic sheet layer are placed on an organic sheet web (10) such that gravity axes (14) of the blanks enclose a predetermined intermediate angle, where the sheet layer is connected to the laminar structure through gluing by supplying heat. The laminar structure is deformed to a lightweight component having U-shaped cross-section in a deep drawing tool by supplying the heat. The lightweight component is reinforced with a sheet structure that is produced by injection molding with thermoplastic.
