Electronic microchip comprises several wells on its surface, which serve as reaction vessels for use in gene sequencing according to sequencing-by-synthesis principle, where electrical conductivity in each individual well, preferably in each individual reaction vessel, is measured. An independent claim is also included for performing the gene sequencing according to sequencing-by-synthesis principle, in several wells and on the surface of the wells respectively containing electrodes for conductivity detection and additionally a thermistor for temperature detection, comprising adding individual deoxynucleotide triphosphate to the well, and detecting insertion reaction of the nucleotides by measuring the conductivity or the temperature-corrected conductivity in the well.
