The quality measure determining method involves examining and evaluating a time-scale relationship of instantaneous phases of a phase track extracted from a two-dimensional single sweep matrix representation. A determinable range of the two-dimensional single sweep matrix representation is also evaluated. An initial quality measure of a deviation of the time-resolved instantaneous phase of the single sweep sequence of stimulus presentation is determined by a uniform instantaneous phase distribution without stimulus presentation. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a method for the detection of event-related potential recordings of neuronal activity; (2) a digital storage medium with electronically readable control signals; (3) a computer program product; (4) a computer program; (5) an arrangement for determining a quality measure for the discharge of event-related potentials in neuronal activity; and (6) an arrangement for the detection of event-related potential recordings of neuronal activity.
