The transmission (10) has a synchronizer-actuating device actuating a seventh gear synchronizer device (29), a seventh gear shift fork (39), reverse gear-synchronizer device (26) and a reverse gear shift fork (38). The synchronizer-actuating device, the seventh gear synchronizer device, the reverse gear-synchronizer device, and the forks are designed such that the seventh gear synchronizer device, the reverse gear-synchronizer device, and the forks are switchable along a longitudinal direction of a seventh and reverse gear switching sleeve in opposite directions by moving the sleeve. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) an engaging mechanism (2) a drive train (3) a motorized vehicle.
