The former (10) has a contact element (100) for applying an electric signal to an electric conductor. A stranded wire and a solid wire are fixable at a clamping device (200) in a force-fit manner. The clamping device is electrically connected with the contact element. The clamping device comprises bendable legs (210, 220) arranged at a carrier element (230). The clamping device is designed as a U-shaped rail, and the contact element is designed as a surface mountable contact terminal or a push-throughable contact terminal.
