Light-weight roll-formed metal sheet profile for modular frame for self-supporting photovoltaic modules, cut into individual metal sheet segments, where expansion of metal sheet is increased by stretching of metal sheet

The profile is cut into individual metal sheet segments e.g. bars (2, 3), by a cutting process. The metal sheet segments are arranged such that a local bending and folding of the bars are enabled over a mean bending line, which is not parallel to a surface of the bar in a travel direction of a roll forming production process, so that expansion of a metal sheet (1) is enabled in different directions and not in the direction of the roll-forming production process. The metal sheet is rotated about 90 degrees and the expansion of the metal sheet is increased by stretching of the metal sheet. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a light-weight roll-formed metal sheet profile.
