The exhaust heat utilization system comprises a closed working medium circuit (1), in which a working medium circulates by passing through a phase change, and an evaporator (2) passed through or flowed through by the exhaust gas and working medium. A pressure-dependent or pressure-independent pressure relief valve (11) is switched parallel to an automatic safety valve (8), by which the working medium circuit is opened for draining of pressure against the surrounding. The pressure relief valve is actively actuatable by the working medium pressure.
