Disclosed is an apparatus and method for providing a remote sensing service based on an Open Social Network Service (SNS). The device for providing a remote sensing service may recommend an explorer terminal to a user terminal based on recommendation information of the user terminal, and may send motion direction data to the user terminal so that remote sensing may be performed along an exploration route determined by the user terminal.
