Cooling device (10) comprises a conveyor (20) which conveys the confectionery products (1) between an inlet portion and an outlet portion within a housing (12) of the cooling device, where the housing is arranged above the conveyor, which comprises horizontally spanning partition wall on a side opposite to the conveyor and forms a part of a cooling channel (26) which receives heat radiated from the confectionery products via partition wall. The partition wall exhibits a device on the side facing towards the confectionery products for absorption enhancement of thermal radiation. Cooling device (10) comprises a conveyor (20) which conveys the confectionery products (1) between an inlet portion and an outlet portion within a housing (12) of the cooling device, where the housing is arranged above the conveyor, which comprises horizontally spanning partition wall on a side opposite to the conveyor and forms a part of a cooling channel (26) which receives heat radiated from the confectionery products via partition wall. The partition wall exhibits a device on the side facing towards the confectionery products for absorption enhancement of thermal radiation, which is emitted from the confectionery products. An independent claim is also included for cooling the confectionery products by the cooling device, comprising removing the thermal radiation emitted from the confectionery products in a partition wall by an air flow in the cooling channel of the housing, and increasing the transmission of the radiation energy in the partition wall by increasing the absorption coefficient of the partition wall and/or by increasing the surface of the partition wall on the side facing the confectionery products.
