The spark-gap has an anode (115) and a cathode (116) separated by an interval located in an enclosure (111) containing gas under pressure. A lens (119) intercepts a laser beam according to axial direction of the anode. The lens is designed to focus the beam beyond a surface of the cathode delimiting the interval and a part of a surface of the cathode, where the surface of the cathode is made of porous heat-resisting materials in which photoemissive material is dispersed to emit electrons under the effect of the beam. An independent claim is also included for a laser source and spark-gap assembly.
