PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain favorable iron dust dispersion even by the addition of a small amount of thickener, while decay and lowering of decomposing ability of an organic chlorine compound hardly arises when a contaminated soil contaminated by an organic chlorine compound is clarified by an iron dust slurry including iron dust and a thickener.;SOLUTION: A clarification material is made a slurry shape in which iron dust is dispersed in water by a thickener, and is added to contaminated soil or contaminated ground water contaminated by an organic chlorine compound. In addition, the clarification material is characterized in that a xanthan gum is used as the thickener.
