PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper transport device capable of inhibiting an error in determining the occurrence of a jam.;SOLUTION: A paper transport device 100 includes: a sound signal outputting part 141 for outputting a sound signal corresponding to sound generated in transporting a paper sheet by providing a sound collection part in the vicinity of a paper transport passage; a sound jam determination part 153 for determining whether or not a jam occurs on the basis of a predetermined sound signal; and a control part 151 for performing abnormality processing on the basis of jam determination of the sound jam determination part. The control part accounts a jam not to occur and controls not to perform abnormality processing when a predetermined sound signal is generated in a predetermined timing even if the sound jam determination part determines the occurrence of a jam.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
