PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toy responding to magnetism to operate by detecting the magnetism when bringing a magnetism generation member, such as a magnet, close to a magnetism detection part having a predetermined range including a sensor even if not putting the magnetism generation member directly above the sensor.;SOLUTION: A magnetic response toy 1 comprises: a main toy body 2; and a sub-toy body 3 including a magnetism generation member 17. The main toy body 2 includes: a magnetism detection part 23 for enabling users attaching or holding the sub-toy body 3 to their bodies to approach parts of their bodies attaching or holding the sub-toy body 3; operation parts 20, 21; an operation storage part 22 for storing operation data; and an operation control part 24 for operating the operation parts 20, 21 based on the operation data according to detection of magnetism by the magnetism detection part 23.
