PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an extract of a papaya leaf, and its application to a cigarette.;SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing an extract of a papaya leaf and its application to a cigarette, in which the extract of a papaya leaf is acquired by water extraction or alcohol extraction at different concentrations, and the extract of a papaya leaf of 0.02 to 5% of the produced pipe tobacco is uniformly sprayed on the pipe tobacco to make a cigarette. According to understanding from the result of the evaluation analysis result of a test in which an extract of a papaya leaf is added to the cigarette, the extract of a papaya leaf is matched with the flavors of the cigarette, improves the quality of the flavors, is enough in the flavors of the cigarette, has the flavors of being fresh and clear, and has the properties of being vivid, is soft and minute, and its continuously long-continued feeling is satisfactory.
