PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controlling method of a battery replacing robot which can adequately replace a plurality of batteries mounted on a vehicle respectively even with a simple structure.SOLUTION: In a controlling method of a battery replacing robot, removal and insertion position instruction data instructed to the battery replacing robot in order to remove and insert a battery by a battery removal and insertion mechanism, and position data for detection as data of positions for detection which is a reference in detecting a detection mark of a vehicle in which a battery is replaced are stored. Furthermore, the position data for detection in detecting a detection mark of a battery placing stand on which the battery to be replaced is mounted is read when the battery is removed from or inserted into the vehicle, the detection mark is detected by operating the battery replacing robot based on the position data for detection which is read, and the battery replacing robot is operated by using the removal and insertion position instruction data which is corrected based on a detection result of the detection mark.
