PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, in the case where a wind velocity increases when extracting energy by means of a PWM converter connected to a wind power generator, it is necessary to release winds by means of an expensive pitch control device or the power generator and the PWM converter fall into overload if the winds are not released.;SOLUTION: In a wind power generation device, a PWM converter is connected to a generator which is driven by a wind mill, and wind mill maximal output is extracted from varying winds. According to a method of preventing an overspeed of the wind power generation device by employing the PWM converter, the overspeed of the wind mill is prevented by torque control of the PWM converter based on a rotating speed of the wind mill.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT
