Control device for working fluid circulating in closed circuit operating according to Rankine cycle and method of using the same

The device has a heat exchanger (22) i.e. evaporator, for evaporation fluid, and an expansion unit (30) for expanding the fluid in vapor form. A cooling exchanger (40) i.e. condenser, is swept by cold fluid (Fr) for condensation of the fluid in vapor form. A circulation and compression pump (12) circulates the fluid in liquid form, and a management unit (54) manages the mass of the fluid contained in a Rankine cycle closed circuit (10). The management unit comprises a working fluid storage tank (56) and selective fluid circulation units (60, 62, 64, 66) between the tank and the circuit. The expansion unit is pressure regulator. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling the working fluid circulating in a closed circuit.
