PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method and apparatus, which separate an electrically neutral material such as a solid material, colloid, cell, and living matter contained in a liquid with high efficiency.;SOLUTION: A separation container constituted so as to produce a non-uniform electric field and having a pair of electrodes at least opposing is prepared. A high-frequency field is applied to at least a pair of electrodes to produce the non-uniform electric field at least between a pair of electrodes. Next, a solution containing the neutral material is introduced into the separation container to flow, the application of the non-uniform electric field to the material produces dielectrophoresis to the material to separate the material from the solution.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
