PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tar decomposition catalyst having superior catalyst activity for decomposing and removing tars in gas obtained by gasifying biomass and superior carbon deposition resistance.;SOLUTION: The tar decomposition catalyst for decomposing tars in gasified gas obtained by thermal decomposition of biomass including sulfur compound carries an Fe component and an Sr component in BaTiO₃. In the method of decomposing and removing tars in gasified gas obtained by thermal decomposition of biomass including a sulfur compound, the gasified gas obtained by the thermal decomposition of the biomass including the sulfur compound is passed through the tar decomposition catalyst obtained by carrying the Fe component and the Sr component in BaTiO₃.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
