PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide base paper for labels having both a surface strength allowing offset printing and a paper strength suppressed so as to allow tearing with a hand, and having good fuzzing at the tear end.;SOLUTION: The base paper for the tear labels includes a plurality of layers. The base paper for the tear labels has the surface strength on the surface to be printed (J. TAPPI No.1:2000, Method A) of 4A or above; and a tensile strength of the base paper (JIS P8113:2006) of 1.0-4.0 kN/m. Furthermore, the ratio of fibers having a length of ≥3.00 mm in the weighted average fiber length distribution (JIS P8226:2006) of fibers disintegrated according to a pulp disintegrating method (JIS P8220:1998) is 10-50%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
