Novel sesquiterpene synthase gene and method for producing sesquiterpene using the same

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new enzyme gene required for the synthesis of sesquiterpene from farnesyl diphosphate, and to provide a method for producing the sesquiterpene. PSOLUTION: There are provided the -bisabolene synthetase gene derived from Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Kintoki cultivar, and the -amorphen synthetase gene. The recombinant coliform bacillus into which the gene is introduced is also provided. The methods for producing the -bisabolene and the -amorphene use the recombinant coliform bacillus.
