The present invention relates to a novel sesquiterpene synthase protein which can be widely used in mass production of a material through recombinant microorganisms, and uses thereof. The novel sesquiterpene synthase protein of the present invention comprises the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 or 2, which may be derived from Parthenium argentatum.
