PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake apparatus, a friction couple for the brake apparatus, and a brake pad which can be optimized in friction performance.;SOLUTION: The brake apparatus includes a first member 4 having a plurality of friction materials 41, a second member 5 which can be displaced relative to the first member 4 upon contact with the plurality of friction materials 41, and a pressing mechanism 3 for pressing the first member 4 and the second member 5. The first member 4 characteristically has a plurality of changing parts 44 which is respectively interposed among a support member 42 with pressing force acting thereto from the pressing mechanism 3 and the plurality of friction materials 41, and which is changed in length along the pressing direction by the pressing member 3 due to heat generated as the friction materials 41 and the second member 5 make contact and are displaced relatively, thus producing an effect that the brake apparatus, the friction couple for the brake apparatus, and the brake pad can be optimized in friction performance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
