PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for generating control data for controlling a predetermined tool in a machine tool.;SOLUTION: There is provided the method for generating control data for controlling a predetermined tool, in a machine tool for machining a clamped workpiece from a blank state into a finished component. Geometric shape model data for a machining geometric shape of the workpiece in machining is compared with finished product geometric shape model data to determine a geometric shape different between them. A machining path is determined based on the determined different geometric shape, and the predetermined tool removes the material from the workpiece along the path. Further, path data is generated, and the predetermined tool removes most of the different geometric shape of the workpiece to a maximum extent per unit time while moving along the machining path dependently on the maximum machining quantity.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
