PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining a charge-transporting amorphous thin film having a molecular orientation direction controlled.;SOLUTION: When a π-conjugated compound is deposited by vapor deposition on a substrate, an orientation direction of the π-conjugated compound is controlled by controlling a substrate temperature so that an orientation direction of a charge-transporting amorphous thin film is controlled, the π-conjugated compound being a charge-transporting amine π-conjugated compound not showing a clear melting point, having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 60°C or more, having a molecular weight in a range of 400-2,500, and having a ratio (L/D) of 2.5 or more wherein L is a length and D is a diameter of a cylinder of the minimum diameter in which the π-conjugated compound is inscribed. The charge-transporting amorphous thin film is manufactured by controlling a temperature of the substrate to be deposited in a range of 0°C to (Tg-30°C) wherein the molecular orientation of the π-conjugated compound is oriented in a horizontal direction relative to the substrate.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
