The present invention discloses an innovative method, as in a distributed computer system by a timer an accurate time base can be built in the distributed components of the system under the conditions that the communication system comprises a non-predictable time behavior. For this purpose, in addition, two kinds of timing signal lines are realized in addition to the message communication channels between the components. The first signal line from the timer to the distributed components transmits the clock to the global clock of the timer to the distributed components.
