CHAIR WITH FOLDABLE ARMREST AND ARMREST LOCKING MECHANISM

A chair that facilitates user ingress and egress has a chair support structureand a seat,a backrest, and at least one armrest coupled to the chair support structure. Alower portion ofthe armrest is coupled to the chair support structure and an upper portion ofthe armrest iscoupled to the lower portion to allow rotation of the upper portion withrespect to the lowerportion around a horizontal axis that splits the armrest into the twoportions. The upperportion can be placed in an upright position above the lower portion and afolded positionalongside the lower portion by rotation of the upper portion around thehorizontal axis. Theupper portion can be locked in the upright position with a locking mechanismthat can extendthrough both the lower portion and the upper portion to prevent rotation ofthe upper portionaround the horizontal axis.
