Provided is a fibrous metal adsorbent that: is used for the adsorption and recovery of metals in solutions; can be manufactured using existing production equipment, without the use of any special equipment or complicated operations; is highly durable; can be easily diversified; and can be easily processed into a variety of shapes. The fibrous metal adsorbent is manufactured according to: a) a step in which an acrylic acid ester polymer having a large number of glycidyl groups is prepared inside molecules; b) a step in which the abovementioned molecules are kneaded with a fiber matrix polymer having a low-melting point; c) a step in which the mixture is converted into a fibrous form using a melting-mixing-spinning method; and d) a step in which a metal-adsorbing functional group is introduced by reacting a long-chain ligand having an amino group or imino group with a glycidyl group having a fibrous surface. The fibrous metal adsorbent is highly durable, can be easily diversified, and can be easily processed into a variety of shapes.
