The present invention describes novel technology for filling percolating biological filters (PBF), using a supporting medium comprised of polyurethane foam with a polymeric supporting structure. Said technology is denominated Rotosponge. Furthermore, the configuration proposed in the patent application allows the filling material to be arranged as modules or blocks, which can be stacked inside PBFs that are used in small or large waste water treatment plants.
