The aerodynamic system (1), arranged near one rear edge of a vehicle (3), comprises: - one outer surface (45) along which air flow generated by the forward motion of the vehicle is flowing; - one opening which opens onto the outer surface and which is connected to one gas jet generating system (12) in order to blow jets of gas (17) rearward in the atmosphere and to influence said air flow. The outer surface comprises a guiding surface (20) located downstream from said opening and oriented inwards from front to rear, in order to guide said influenced air flow downstream from the opening. The jets of gas are discontinuously generated at a frequency F ≥ (0,4 x U) / H, where U is a parameter corresponding at least to the vehicle speed in the forward direction (in m/s) and H is the vehicle height (in m).
