Disclosed are an external cavity laser using a thin film filter and an optical transmitter comprising the external cavity laser. The external cavity laser includes a semiconductor laser diode outputting an optical signal; a lens collecting the optical signal outputted from the semiconductor laser diode; a multilayered thin filter transmitting the optical signal corresponding to a transmission wavelength band by receiving the optical signal passing through the lens; and a partial reflector transmitting the optical signal from the multilayered thin filter to an optical fiber.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
