Provided in the present invention is a charcoal fire roaster and a method for igniting charcoal. The charcoal fire roaster according to the present invention includes: an external container which has an opening formed on top where a gridiron is placed; and a rod-shaped electric pyrogen installed vertically from the center of the floor of the external container; a ring-shaped air conditioning container installed on the floor of the external container, to surround the electric pyrogen; and a container-like charcoal container fixed to the air conditioning container, to have a an accommodation space for containing charcoal. The charcoal container is integrated to the floor and is protruded from the center of the floor.
