PURPOSE: A medicinal herb extract with an antiviral activity against influenza virus H1N1 is provided. CONSTITUTION: A composition with an antiviral activity against influenza contains organic solvent extract of Tussilago farfara, Prunus armeniaca, Astragalus membranaceus, or Patrinia villosa and fraction thereof. A method for preparing the extract comprises: a step of dipping each dry medicinal herb materials; a step of extracting at room temperature for 24 hours and filtering using Whatman filter paper no. 2; a step of concentrating the filtered material under 40C; a step of freeze-drying and dissolving dried extract in serum-free MEM(eagle's minimum essential medium); and a step of filtering with 0.45 um filter and storing at 4C.
