The present invention relates to a manufacturing method for a superhydrophobic coating layer and a superhydrophobic coating layer manufactured thereby and, more specifically, a manufacturing method for a superhydrophobic coating layer comprising: a step of manufacturing a ceramic precursor solution by mixing ceramic precursors and solvents (step 1); a step of forming a ceramic coating layer by spraying the ceramic precursor solution manufactured in step 1 on a basic material through an electrospray method (step 2); a step of forming necking between particles by performing heat treating on the ceramic coating layer formed in step 2 (step 3); and a step of performing fluorination on the ceramic coating layer in which the necking is formed in step 3 (step 4). The superhydrophobic coating layer in which the necking is formed according to the present invention is able to exhibit excellent adhesion strength while maintaining surface roughness. The superhydrophobic coating layer according to the present invention is able to be applied to parts such as automotive windows, a head lamp, a wiper and the like, thereby being able to increase functionality capable of properly coping with various external environmental factors such as rain, snow, fogging and the like. Furthermore, the superhydrophobic coating layer is able to prevent pollution due to rain, fine dust and the like when the superhydrophobic coating layer is applied to a photovoltaic panel, an exterior wall of a building and the like.
