The present invention relates to a system and a method for automatically calibrating the wheel of a subway train and, more particularly, to a system and a method for automatically calibrating wheels in real time using wayside coils for controlling the moving authority of an actual subway train during the operation of the subway train. The system for automatically calibrating the wheel of a subway train comprises: two wayside coils which are installed on a railroad at a fixed interval in order to transmit a wireless signal; a beacon antenna which is installed in the lower part of a train in order to receive the wireless signal from the wayside coil and to transmit the signal to a cab controller when the train passes the wayside coil; a tachometer which is installed in an axle of the train in order to count the number of pulses according to the rotation of wheels connected to the axle during the operation of the train and to transmit the number to the cab controller; and a cab signal device CPU which calculates the length per one pulse from a difference in pulse numbers when the train passes the two wayside coils, and calculates the length per one pulse using a self-stored wheel diameter, compares the above two lengths, and then, when the two lengths are different, calibrates the wheel diameter based on the length per one pulse calculated during the operation of the train.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2014
