PURPOSE: A relay network, and a communication protocol support device in the relay network and a method thereof are provided to prevent loss of unnecessary wireless resources. CONSTITUTION: A decoder(712) decodes source node information. A control unit(720) determines a relay mode of the source node information in consideration of whether to successfully decoding the source node information. When the decoding is successful, a coder(714) codes the decoded source node information. When the decoding is not successful, an amplification unit(716) amplifies the source node information received from a source node.
