The device has a piston pump unit which has a working area limiting piston (3), where a crank drive is formed for driving the piston. An eccentric element is provided between the crank drive and the piston and is arranged on a rotationally drivable drive shaft (6) with an eccentricity. The eccentric element is rotatably mounted with respect to the crank drive in such a manner that the eccentric element rolls on a part of a piston pump (1) such that a piston movement is caused. An independent claim is included for a piston pump for conveying fuel.
