The method comprises positioning fibers and a fiber composite material on a mat support mold to form a fiber mat, applying a liquid and/or gel matrix material to the fiber mats for impregnating the mat with the matrix material, covering an arrangement of fiber mats and matrix material using a flexible cover in a region of a support surface of the arrangement on the mat support mold to form a molded package, pressing the molded package, generating a negative pressure in the mat support mold and the cover surrounding an area of the package, and hardening the matrix material. The method comprises positioning fibers and a fiber composite material on a mat support mold to form a fiber mat, applying a liquid and/or gel matrix material to the fiber mats for impregnating the mat with the matrix material, covering an arrangement of fiber mats and matrix material using a flexible cover in a region of a support surface of the arrangement on the mat support mold to form a molded package, pressing the molded package, generating a negative pressure in the mat support mold and the cover surrounding an area of the package, and hardening the matrix material by heat treatment. The heat treatment of the molded package is carried out in an immersion bath with a liquid medium. The fiber mats are largely or entirely introduced to the mat support mold before molding. The immersion bath includes media baths with different temperature of 40-200[deg] C by which the molded package is transported one after another. The molded package is continuously transported into the media path in an end to other end manner. The mat support mold is a sheet-metal pressed part, and comprises reinforcing ribs facing away from the fiber mats. The cover is present in the form of a plastic film. The support mold and/or the cover is reusable after a cleaning process. The molded package is pressed with a pressing force of 500 tons. An independent claim is included for a system for producing a layered material of composite material.
