Producing lignin membrane from spent liquor obtained in cellulose extraction process, comprises (a) drying the spent liquor, (b) pressing the dried spent liquor to a membrane, and (c) treating the produced lignin membrane with an acid. An independent claim is also included for the lignin membrane prepared by the above method.
